MALAYSIA’S WORLD’S FIRST SOVEREIGN SUSTAINABILITY SUKUK OVERSUBSCRIBED BY 6.4 TIMES – UPSIZED FROM USD1 BILLION TO USD1.3 BILLION

✅ Oversubscription of Malaysia’s first global sukuk issuance since 2016 is a vote of confidence in country’s policies and strong economic fundamentals

Due to overwhelming demand, the Malaysian Government upsized the initial target size of USD1.0 billion to USD1.3 billion

✅ Strong demand resulted in lowest ever yield and the lowest spread for a US-Dollar Sukuk issuance by Malaysia, demonstrating market confidence in Malaysia’s policies, economic recovery and growth prospects, despite a challenging 13 months due to COVID-19. The Malaysian Government successfully priced its world’s first sovereign U.S. Dollar Sustainability Sukuk i.e., US$800-million 10-year Trust Certificates at 2.070% (T+50 bps]; and US$500-million 30-year Trust Certificates at 3.075% [T+ 80 bps] – this is EXCELLENT PRICING!

✅ Both tranches rated A3 by Moody’s Investors Service Limited and A- by S&P Rating Services

✅ Sukuk proceeds will fund social and environmental projects, supporting Government’s efforts in combating climate change; and building a more resilient & inclusive economy, in line with Shared Prosperity Vision 2030

✅ Sustainability Sukuk is issued via SPV, Malaysia Wakala Sukuk Berhad, and based on Malaysia’s newly established _The Government of Malaysia SDG Sukuk Framework_, assessed by Sustainalytics.
