News | Corporate strategies to save expenditures, recover commodities sector
KUALA LUMPUR, 7TH SEPT : Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) will focus on corporate strategies to save unnecessary expenditures, as well as reinvigorating the nation’s plantation industries and commodities sector.
Its Minister, Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said in a statement yesterday, these strategies are needed to reorganise and streamline the agencies, so that several issues faced by MPIC before this can be solved dynamically.
“Among the first things will be to enhance the value of our downstream commodity products and to actively engage in the anti-commodities campaigns, especially in the EU and USA.
“I will also be implementing corporate strategies to enable a circular economy that takes into account concerns by environmentalists and human rights activists,” she said.
Zuraida added, through feedback from industry players, necessary changes will be made to help boost revenues and to make recoveries in the commodities sector.
“Other than that, I will be also monitoring the issue of labour shortage and vaccination rates for all the workers involved in the plantation industries.” – PPI
